New solution on the Jade ship transforms offshore routine with hospitality services, healthy food, welcoming, and comfort for teams spending up to 20 days at sea.
Sodexo Brazil has launched its first complete Offshore Living operation on a vessel of Seagems, a Brazilian subsea engineering company. The initiative was implemented on the Jade ship and aims to improve the routine of professionals who remain 15 to 20 days on board.
Moreover, the project expands the traditional concept of maritime hospitality. Now, the onboard experience involves gastronomy, well-being, convenience, welcoming, and space ambiance.
According to Sodexo, the solution was created to meet a growing demand in the offshore sector. After all, the routine at sea requires constant attention, adaptation, and long periods away from family.

Therefore, the model considers the entire journey of the worker, from boarding to disembarking. In this way, the company seeks to create more comfortable, productive, and safe environments.
Model focuses on comfort, food, and onboard experience
According to the Global Offshore Consumer study conducted by Sodexo, 26% of onboard professionals point to healthy eating and well-being as the main need.
In addition, 20% mention the balance between personal and professional life. Another 20% highlight the connection with family as an essential point during their stay at sea.
In this context, Offshore Living offers a more complete structure on the Jade ship. The restaurant has been revitalized to also function as a social space.
Furthermore, the vessel now features a welcome reception, 24-hour micromarket, hydroponic garden, olfactory ambiance in cabins, and standardized signage.
Teams have also been trained with a focus on hospitality. Thus, the proposal seeks to make the onboard experience more humanized and organized.

Sodexo and Seagems aim for safety, belonging, and productivity
According to Cinthia Lira, Marketing Director at Sodexo Brazil, hospitality is an essential part of the work experience in offshore operations.
Furthermore, according to the executive, Offshore Living combines food, welcoming, comfort, and convenience. With this, the solution contributes to more engaged, safe, and productive teams.
For Seagems, the initiative also strengthens operational performance. As explained by Lucas Watanabe, Vessel Operations Manager of the company, offshore life requires technical excellence and continuous care for people.
Additionally, he highlighted that a well-structured routine reduces variables, makes the environment more stable, and reinforces safety on board.
Now, after debuting on the Jade ship, Offshore Living is expected to gradually expand to other Seagems vessels. The forecast is to bring the model to the other five units of the company.
With this, maritime hospitality gains a new approach in the Brazilian offshore sector, combining operation, comfort, and well-being at sea. After all, can taking care of the onboard experience transform the routine of those who keep large operations running far from the coast?
