The Starlink Mini, new satellite internet antenna from Elon Musk’s company, has been approved by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) and is now cleared for commercialization in Brazil.

The compact model emerges as a more practical and portable alternative for providing high-speed internet to remote locations, trips, or homes with limited space.

What Is the Starlink Mini and What Are Its Advantages?

The Starlink Mini is a smaller version of the traditional Starlink antenna, focused on mobility. Its dimensions are 30 x 25 x 3.8 cm, weighing only 0.9 kg.

What Are the Technical Specifications of the Starlink Mini?

According to documents from Anatel, the approved model is the UTA-231, designed for outdoor use and resistant to adverse weather conditions.

It can operate in temperatures ranging from -30 °C to 50 °C, with humidity levels of up to 90% — features that ensure robustness even in extreme environments.

The antenna supports the Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) standard and includes 3×3 MIMO technology, allowing multiple simultaneous connections with increased stability and transmission speed.

The Starlink Mini comes with an external power supply with a wired connection, reinforcing the reliability of the connection, even in areas with interference.

What Is the Price of the Starlink Mini and How Does the Plan Work?

In Brazil, the Starlink Mini will be part of the Travel Plan, which costs R$ 576 per month. This price includes unlimited internet with coverage across the entire national territory, without bandwidth or speed limitations.

This is an important advantage for those in areas without traditional telecommunications infrastructure.

Unlike other countries, Brazil will not have, for now, the version of the Travel Plan with a limited quota of 50 GB.

Additionally, the company offers a residential plan, with the standard antenna, for R$ 236 per month, also with unlimited data.

Will the Antenna Be Manufactured in Brazil?

No. According to information registered with Anatel, the Starlink Mini units sold in Brazil will be produced in factories located in Texas and California, in the United States.

Still, the approval from the Brazilian agency is a crucial step for the import and regular sale of the equipment here.

When Will the Starlink Mini Be Available in Brazil?

Despite the completed approval, Starlink has not yet announced an official date for the start of sales of the Mini version in Brazil.

With Anatel’s approval, the expectation is that the launch will happen soon, especially given the growing interest in satellite internet solutions in rural, remote areas and during travel.
