Stellantis Confirms Launch of Model Still in 2025 and Price Should Hover Around R$ 250 Thousand
Leapmotor, a Chinese brand in which Stellantis is the majority shareholder, has just confirmed the arrival of the electric SUV B10 in Brazil. The model will arrive in the second half of 2025, alongside the already announced C10, with the mission to compete in the mid-sized electric SUVs sold in the country, such as the BYD Yuan Plus and the Geely EX5, according to the Auto Esporte website.
Mid-Sized SUV Focused on Technology and Cost-Effectiveness
Originally presented at the Paris Motor Show, the Leapmotor B10 has started to be sold in China recently and has a size similar to that of the Jeep Compass, measuring 4.52 meters in length and 2.74 meters in wheelbase. The trunk holds 420 liters and the wheels are 18 inches. The automaker’s proposal is to offer an electric SUV with good interior space, embedded technology, and a competitive price compared to Chinese rivals.
Electric Powertrain and Up to 460 km of Range
The Leapmotor B10 will be offered with a rear electric motor of 218 hp and 24.5 kgfm of torque. There will be two battery options:
-
The 2012 Mitsubishi Pajero Dakar diesel shows 314,000 km and still draws attention for its reputation for durability; the seven-seater 4×4 SUV handles trails, but signs of severe use may conceal losses for used car buyers.
-
Peugeot publicly acknowledged the errors of the PureTech engine, which caused serious failures in hundreds of thousands of cars, and introduced the new Turbo 100 as a definitive solution, a 1.2 turbo tested for over 3 million kilometers that replaces the faulty belt with a more durable chain.
-
Automatic cars become ‘cheap’ in Brazil, and models from Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, and Honda appear for R$ 65,000 with up to 120 hp, CVT transmission, 482 liters of trunk space, keyless entry, and six airbags to tackle traffic without a clutch.
-
Honda revives a classic from Brazilian streets with a new name, TFT panel, and reprogrammed engine in the 2027 lineup; see the first impressions of the CB500 Hornet, which arrives with 49.6 hp, 4.5 kgf.m torque, 6-speed gearbox, 175 kg, and Showa suspension on Brazilian streets.
- 56.2 kWh, with a range of up to 380 km
- 67.1 kWh, with a range of up to 460 km
(values according to the CLTC cycle, used in China)
This configuration positions it as one of the models with the best cost-effectiveness in range within its price range.
Estimated Price and New Strategy from Stellantis
Although the official price has yet to be disclosed, the expectation is that the Leapmotor B10 will be launched for around R$ 250 thousand, a value influenced by the reintroduction of the import tax on electric vehicles starting in July. In China, the model costs between 110,000 and 140,000 yuan — the equivalent of R$ 87 thousand to R$ 113 thousand in direct conversion.
Stellantis bets on Leapmotor as a new front for electrification in Brazil, after limited experiences with the Fiat 500e and Peugeot e-208. The strategy includes hybrid dealerships: some shared with brands like Jeep and Fiat, others exclusive to the new brand.
Besides the B10, the C10 SUV will also be launched here, including 100% electric and EREV versions, with an internal combustion engine used solely as a generator, aimed at consumers seeking greater range.
