Central Bank Update Allows Automatic Retrieval of Forgotten Amounts, Linking Refunds Directly to the CPF Pix. The Measure Simplifies the Process, Reduces Bureaucracy, and Can Benefit Millions of Brazilians with Pending Credits.

Brazilians with a CPF-type Pix key and a gov.br account at silver or gold levels with two-step verification can now enable the automatic retrieval of the System of Amounts to be Received (SVR) from the Central Bank.

The function credits forgotten money directly into the account linked to the holder’s CPF, without the need to repeat requests for each new amount identified.

On September 9, 2025, the Central Bank reported that there are still R$ 10.69 billion available for withdrawal, consisting of R$ 8.08 billion from individuals and R$ 2.61 billion from legal entities.

How Automatic Retrieval Works

The automatic request is restricted to individuals and depends on the user confirming, in the SVR, that their Pix key is their CPF.

Once enabled, each new amount that participating institutions identify in the client’s name is credited directly to the account associated with that key.

The Central Bank does not send individual notifications when there is a deposit.

The credit is made by the institution that holds the resource as soon as the conditions are met.

Who Can Enable and What Is Excluded

Participation is optional and only applies to individuals who have an active CPF-type Pix key.

Companies do not participate in this modality, and joint accounts remain subject to the manual process.

In addition, when the institution has not adhered to the refund term via Pix in the SVR, the process remains manual within the system.

These rules were defined to respect the particularities of financial products and the gradual adherence of institutions to the automatic model.

How to Activate the Function Securely

The path starts in the official SVR environment.

The user accesses the system, logs in with a gov.br account at silver or gold level, and keeps two-step verification active.

Next, they confirm the CPF-type Pix key and enable the automatic retrieval option.

For those who only wish to check if there is money to receive, the public consultation remains available using CPF and date of birth.

Only to enable or request amounts, it is necessary to log in with the secure gov.br account protected by 2FA.

What Changes for the User

With automation, there is no need to return to the site to register each request.

The system operates in the background, and when there are amounts, the transfer via Pix occurs to the account linked to the holder’s CPF.

The Central Bank emphasizes that there are no emails, SMS, or messages announcing credits sent.

Confirmation appears in the client’s account statement, which can be monitored normally.

Most Recent Numbers of Forgotten Money

The Central Bank panel, updated on September 9, 2025 based on data from July, indicates R$ 10.69 billion still pending retrieval.

Individuals concentrate R$ 8.08 billion, while legal entities sum R$ 2.61 billion.

The potential universe remains vast: 48 million citizens and 4.6 million companies have amounts to receive.

Since the creation of the SVR in 2022, the system has already returned over R$ 11.3 billion.

Essential Precautions Against Scams

The official guidance is to use only the Central Bank’s channels.

Consultation and retrieval are free.

The government does not send links via email, SMS, or apps and does not charge fees for releasing amounts.

Pages that promise quick access for payment are fraudulent and should be ignored and reported.

Two-step authentication on the gov.br account reduces the risk of unauthorized access during activation and retrieval.

Practical Impact and Limits of the Service

Automation tends to reduce bureaucracy and increase the program’s effectiveness.

The gain is greater for those who do not frequently monitor the SVR and have small dispersed credits over time.

Still, there are limits: coverage depends on the adherence of institutions to the automatic refund term, and joint accounts are excluded.

In these situations, the manual flow remains available within the system, with step-by-step guidance.

Why Money Stays Idle

The stock of amounts in the SVR originates from common situations in the financial system.

These include residual balances in closed accounts, fees refunded that did not reach the customer, consortium surpluses, and resources linked to institutions in liquidation.

As many consumers do not monitor these occurrences, the amounts — sometimes small — accumulate until the holder accesses the system or, now, enables automatic retrieval.

Next Step for Those Entitled

Those who meet the requirements should check if their CPF Pix key is active with their preferred bank and then enable the function in the SVR using a secure gov.br account.

From there, new credits identified by adhering institutions are directly credited to the account associated with that key, without additional interactions.

If the institution has not adhered or if the amount comes from a joint account, the user continues with the manual procedure within the platform.

Have you checked if your CPF-type Pix key is active and if your gov.br account has silver or gold level with 2FA to activate automatic deposits?
