How to Enroll in the Guri Program
To enroll, you do not need prior experience in music, nor do you need to own an instrument. The Guri Program offers music initiation courses for children ages 6 to 9 and sequential courses for young people ages 10 to 18, where it is possible to learn to play various instruments or enhance vocal skills.
Among the options are violin, viola, cello, double bass, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium, percussion, drums, guitar, electric bass, piano, keyboard, accordion, ukulele, mandolin, caipira viola, seven-string guitar, tenor guitar, and traditional guitar.
According to information released by the program, some poles also offer the Music Initiation course for Adults, aimed at those over 18 years old. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or resume musical studies in a welcoming environment at no cost.
To secure your spot, you must attend in person at your chosen pole, accompanied by a guardian (in the case of minors), and bring the following documents:
- Birth certificate or ID (original and copy);
- Proof of school enrollment and/or school attendance declaration;
- Guardian’s ID (original and copy);
- One recent 3×4 photo;
- Proof of address for verification.
