Program Opens More Than 78 Thousand Spots for Free Music Courses. With Options for Children, Teens, and Adults, the Program Does Not Require Prior Knowledge. Take Advantage!

Imagine having the chance to learn to play a musical instrument for free! The Guri Program, an initiative that has already transformed the lives of thousands of young people and adults, is offering 78,689 spots for music education courses.

If you have always dreamed of learning to play the violin, guitar, or even venturing into percussion, this is your chance to shine.

According to the Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industries of São Paulo, the Guri Program is managed by Santa Marcelina Cultura and offers a variety of courses for different age groups. Enrollment for the new spots will be open from August 5 to September 13.

With 400 poles spread throughout the state, it is easy to find a nearby location to participate in the classes. The availability of courses and instruments may vary by location. Therefore, it is important to check the complete list of courses, addresses, and phone numbers on the Guri Program website. It is also recommended to call to confirm the days and hours of operation before going to the location.

How to Enroll in the Guri Program

To enroll, you do not need prior experience in music, nor do you need to own an instrument. The Guri Program offers music initiation courses for children ages 6 to 9 and sequential courses for young people ages 10 to 18, where it is possible to learn to play various instruments or enhance vocal skills.

Among the options are violin, viola, cello, double bass, recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, trombone, tuba, euphonium, percussion, drums, guitar, electric bass, piano, keyboard, accordion, ukulele, mandolin, caipira viola, seven-string guitar, tenor guitar, and traditional guitar.

According to information released by the program, some poles also offer the Music Initiation course for Adults, aimed at those over 18 years old. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or resume musical studies in a welcoming environment at no cost.

To secure your spot, you must attend in person at your chosen pole, accompanied by a guardian (in the case of minors), and bring the following documents:

  • Birth certificate or ID (original and copy);
  • Proof of school enrollment and/or school attendance declaration;
  • Guardian’s ID (original and copy);
  • One recent 3×4 photo;
  • Proof of address for verification.

This is an unmissable opportunity for those who want to develop in music! What instrument would you like to learn to play? Share your thoughts in the comments!
