For many Brazilians, obtaining a driver’s license (CNH) is a big step towards independence and new job opportunities. However, the high costs involved in the process can be a significant obstacle. With this in mind, the government launched the CNH Popular Program, an initiative that facilitates obtaining a driver’s license for free for those who cannot afford the expenses. Want to know how to get your driver’s license for free? Keep reading to discover all the details.
What Is the CNH Popular Program?
The CNH Social, also known as the CNH Popular, is a program from state governments in partnership with the Detran in various states and municipalities in Brazil. The goal is to offer the first driver’s license for free to low-income individuals. With this initiative, beneficiaries can obtain their driver’s license and, consequently, access new job opportunities, such as app drivers, deliverers, taxi drivers, among others.
In addition to offering the driver’s license for free, the CNH Popular Program also allows for the addition of new categories and the change from category B to D. This means that drivers will be able to drive both passenger cars and passenger transport vehicles. The initiative aims to promote social inclusion and autonomy for individuals, allowing them to qualify and enter the job market.
