Paying attention to this trend, the State University of Feira de Santana (Uefs), in partnership with the Confucius Institute of the Federal University of Bahia (Ufba) and Shanghai University, is offering a free professional qualification course for those who wish to learn Chinese.
This initiative is an unmissable chance to dive into the ancient culture and master one of the most spoken languages in the world.

Enrollment to Learn Chinese for Free
The opportunity to learn Chinese at Uefs is open for enrollment, and interested parties should act quickly, as it closes on August 31.
The course, the result of a robust partnership between the Confucius Institute of the Federal University of Bahia (Ufba) and Shanghai University, aims to provide high-quality training for the people of Feira de Santana and the region.
The in-person teaching mode allows for closer interaction with professors and peers, creating a dynamic and effective learning environment.
The program has been structured to cater to different levels of knowledge, offering in-person classes for two knowledge levels:
- Basic 1: ideal for beginners with no prior knowledge of Mandarin.
- Basic 2: aimed at those who already have some prior knowledge of the language, allowing for the continuity of learning.
Classes will be taught by Chinese teachers specialized in teaching Mandarin, ensuring immersion in the language and culture.
In addition to pedagogy, the teachers will use a proprietary methodology and exclusive didactic material, designed to optimize the learning process and make Mandarin more accessible to Brazilian students.
To ensure the quality of teaching and closer monitoring, classes will have a maximum of 20 students, providing a more welcoming and focused environment.
Course Details and How to Enroll
Mandarin course activities are scheduled to take place in the afternoon and evening, facilitating the participation of students and workers who need to balance studies with other activities.
The start of classes is planned for September, ending in December 2025.
The duration period, of about four months, is ideal for those seeking quick training that allows for a solid foundation for the continuation of studies.
To enroll, interested parties should send an email to sertao-china@uefs.br.
In the email, it is important to express interest in the course, providing contact details and the level of prior knowledge of the language.
The selection process will be based on the order of arrival of enrollments, so do not waste time!

Knowledge of Mandarin is increasingly valued in the job market and could be the differential that your resume lacks.
