Ternium, the largest producer of flat steel in Latin America which has a plant that generates 8 thousand jobs in the western zone of Rio, has managed to return to the same sales levels of steel plates produced in Brazil as in the pre-pandemic period.
Despite having registered a 37% drop in activities at the peak of the pandemic in April, the company has already recovered the numbers from 2019. Ternium’s plant in Brazil has an installed capacity to produce 5 million tons of steel plates per year and has main clients in the USA, Mexico, and Brazil.
