Installed about 60 meters above sea level, in Fujian, China, the suspended coffee went viral on social media by offering access via via ferrata and rappelling, with advance reservation, mandatory insurance, and unlimited time stay

The Gushi Cliff Coffee, located on a steep cliff in Fujian, China, has turned a coffee break into a risk and adventure experience. About 60 meters above sea level, the place has gained notoriety for combining panoramic views, difficult access, and an adrenaline-focused proposal.

Suspended coffee on cliff draws attention in China

The establishment presents itself as “the most extreme coffee in the world” and operates on rectangular platforms attached to the cliff, where customers sit to enjoy their drinks. The unusual structure has placed the location among the most intriguing destinations for tourists seeking out-of-the-ordinary experiences.

Described as a challenging setting even for coffee lovers, the space has attracted visitors from various parts of China. The profile of the audience mainly includes people interested in adventure and high-altitude activities.

Access requires via ferrata and supervised rappelling

To reach the suspended coffee, tourists must first traverse a via ferrata for about 30 minutes. After that, the descent to the platforms is done by rappelling, always under the supervision of an instructor.

According to the founder of Cliff Coffee, the descent cannot be made without the supervision of the team. He also emphasized that, given the increase in interest, it is necessary to make a reservation in advance.

Videos boosted recent interest

Although it was inaugurated in 2004, Gushi Cliff Coffee has recently gained traction again after videos recorded at the location circulated on social media. The images showcased the extreme location of the coffee and helped increase its visibility among tourists.

The digital buzz increased demand for the experience, leading the location to reinforce access rules. The growing interest has solidified the suspended coffee as a standout attraction among travelers seeking adventure.

Price includes insurance and equipment

A cup of coffee at Gushi Cliff Coffee costs 398 yuan, equivalent to US$ 58. According to the owner, this amount includes mandatory insurance, rental of professional equipment, and rappelling instructors.

The location also does not set a time limit for visitors. After reaching the platforms, customers can stay there for as long as they wish.
