Xiaomi launches washing machine with three independent drums, HyperOS, steam sterilization, and simultaneous washing for around R$ 2,955.
Xiaomi has entered an area that seemed practically stagnant for decades: the home washing machine. The Chinese company introduced the Mijia Three-Zone Washing Machine Pro, a smart washer with three independent drums, designed to allow simultaneous washing of different types of clothes within the same equipment.
The concept completely changes the logic of traditional laundry. Instead of a single drum mixing underwear, delicate items, heavy clothes, towels, and children’s clothes in the same cycle, Xiaomi divided the system into three independent zones, each with its own water supply, separate control, and specific washing modes.
Xiaomi creates washing machine with three independent drums to avoid mixing clothes
The Mijia Three-Zone Washing Machine Pro uses a main front drum and two smaller drums installed above the main structure. The goal is to allow different categories of clothes to be washed at the same time without contact between them.

New technology may retire the common bathroom fixture: smart shower turns on by voice, heats up before the shower, adjusts temperature via mobile phone, and transforms the shower stall into a digital system inspired by a connected home.
In the initial version of 10 kg, the main drum supports larger loads, such as sheets, pants, t-shirts, and heavy clothes, while the upper drums handle smaller items, including underwear, socks, delicate clothes, and children’s items.
The most aggressive point of the proposal is precisely the independence between the compartments. Each drum has its own inlet and drainage, which reduces the risk of cross-contamination between different fabrics.
Chinese washer tries to solve an old household problem: separating clothes all the time
Most households still rely on a repetitive and manual process in the laundry: separating light, dark, intimate, delicate, baby clothes, and contaminated items before starting multiple independent cycles.
Xiaomi attempts to transform this process into a simultaneous operation. The idea of the machine is to allow the user to perform multiple washes at the same time within a single piece of equipment, reducing waiting time, unnecessary consumption, and constant load reorganization.
This changes the role of the washing machine. It ceases to be just a drum spinning clothes and starts functioning as a segmented automated laundry.
System uses steam sterilization, smart washing, and antibacterial technology
The Mijia Three-Zone Washing Machine Pro also heavily invests in hygiene. According to information published about the product, the machine offers washing at 95 °C, steam sterilization, and specific hygiene modes for underwear and delicate fabrics.

Xiaomi claims that certain modes can remove 99.99% of bacteria, as well as mites and allergens, although these data are manufacturer statements and depend on usage mode and test conditions.
Another highlight is the use of electrolysis technology and three-dimensional washing systems to improve stain removal and efficiency even in cold cycles, according to materials related to the product.
Xiaomi transforms washing machine into smart device connected to HyperOS
The washer is also part of Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem. The device supports HyperOS Connect, integration with the Mi Home app, and remote control via smartphone.
This allows programming cycles, monitoring washing, receiving notifications, and adjusting parameters remotely. Xiaomi also claims that the system supports OTA updates, allowing function evolution via software.
In practice, the company tries to transform the laundry into another connected point of the smart home, bringing the washing machine closer to the logic used in smartphones, TVs, and IoT devices.
Automatic detergent system calculates amount for each drum
Another strong point is the automatic detergent dosing system. The machine has intelligent compartments capable of calculating the ideal amount of products for each washing zone.
According to materials published about the product, the system reduces soap waste, improves rinsing, and decreases residue on fabrics. The proposal also attempts to automate a step that still heavily depends on the user’s manual decision.
The latest version of the model also adds multiple automatic distribution drawers for different types of detergent and specific liquids for delicate clothes.
Three-drum machine attempts to turn efficiency into an argument against traditional washers
Xiaomi presents the washer as a domestic efficiency solution. Instead of running several separate cycles throughout the day, the machine allows different washes to be concentrated simultaneously.

This reduces waiting time and can decrease water and energy waste on small loads, especially when the user needs to wash a few delicate items without filling a large drum.
The company also highlights reduced vibration and noise using direct drive inverter motors and independent suspension systems.
Model starts at about R$ 2,955 in China
According to T3 and other technology publications, the initial 10 kg version was launched in China for 3,999 yuan, about R$ 2,955 at the current direct conversion rate, not considering taxes, shipping, importation, or Brazilian margin.
The larger 14 kg version appeared for 6,499 yuan, approximately R$ 4,802 in direct conversion. This model increases the main drum capacity to 12 kg and expands the upper drums to 1 kg each.
So far, there is no official confirmation of a global launch for the Three-Zone Washing Machine Pro line.
Xiaomi shows how even the laundry has entered the era of intelligent segmentation
For decades, the evolution of washing machines revolved around capacity, spin, and energy savings. Xiaomi is trying to open another path: physically dividing the wash into multiple intelligent zones.
The idea is simple but aggressive: instead of a single drum for any clothes, the company practically placed three independent machines within the same equipment.
If the logic works outside of China, the traditional single-drum washing machine may start to seem as limited as an old cellphone without internet.
