Toyota’s Collective Agreement in Sorocaba Guarantees Doubled Food Allowance, Salary Adjustment with Real Gains in 2026, and Advances in Social Benefits Such as Expanded Childcare Assistance, Extended Leaves, and New Bonuses, Reinforcing Achievements for Workers.

Toyota and the Metalworkers’ Union of Sorocaba and Region (SMetal) approved, in an assembly held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, a new two-year collective agreement that doubles the food allowance, expands social clauses, and ensures 1.2% real increase in 2026.

The monthly benefit for food increases from R$ 540 to R$ 1,080, and the social package has been strengthened with measures aimed at family care, health, and well-being of the category.

Doubled Food Allowance and Two-Year Duration

The main economic advancement of the agreement is the 100% adjustment in the food allowance, which reaches R$ 1,080 monthly.

The change takes immediate effect and is part of a set of improvements agreed upon with validity for two years, preserving predictability for workers and the company.

The decision was made in an assembly with the participation of workers from the automaker, in the presence of union leadership and representatives from the Company Union Committee (CSE).

Salary Adjustment Expected for 2026

It was determined that, in 2026, the salary correction will consider the INPC accumulated from September 2025 to August 2026, plus 1.2% real gain.

The application will occur from August 31, 2026, ensuring inflation recompensation and a real addition to purchasing power.

The design of the adjustment follows the logic of the salary campaign from the base and clearly anticipates the rule that will be used in the next cycle.

Childcare Assistance: Longer Period and Increased Amount

The agreement extends the reach of childcare assistance.

Payment will be due for up to 30 months after returning from maternity leave, six months longer than previously planned.

The benefit amount also rises, from 20% to 30% of the category’s minimum wage, and does not require proof of payment.

This measure aims to reduce fixed costs for families with young children and facilitate the reconciliation of work and care.

Leaves and Bonuses: Adoption, Health, and Blood Donation

The approved text extends the adoption leave for children up to 18 years old, surpassing the previous limit of 7 years.

In health, the bonus for hospitalization of spouse or partner is now two days, double what it was before.

There is also a change in the bonus for blood donation, which can now be used twice a year, once in each semester, encouraging the practice without loss of salary.

The assembly included the presence of the SMetal Secretary-General, Silvio Ferreira, union leader Marcelo José da Silva, known as Marcelinho Toyota, and members of the CSE.

The negotiation maintained the premise of strengthening social clauses, with special attention to the demands of women workers and family situations that require support from the employer.

The changes in social clauses were highlighted by Maria das Dores da Silva Fideralino (Mariah), a member of the CSE at Toyota.

For her, the set of measures represents an advance in daily support for women workers, especially in reconciling motherhood and professional activity.

This agreement brings important advancements, especially in social clauses, and shows how unity makes a difference. For us, women who often face double or even triple shifts, achievements like the expansion of childcare assistance represent fundamental support in our daily lives,” she stated.

The approval of the agreement comes at a time of salary campaign prioritizing the recomposition of inflationary losses and ensuring real gains when there is economic margin.

By linking the 2026 rule to the INPC from September 2025 to August 2026, with 1.2% above inflation, the collective instrument defines the adjustment parameter in advance and reduces uncertainties.

The reinforcement of the food allowance and the expansion of bonuses and leaves have an immediate effect, while the salary correction rule takes effect on the established date.

In practice, the increase in the food allowance boosts monthly indirect income and can alleviate essential expenses.
