According to information released by Carscoops.com, the brand will use a new engine inspired by the Yaris GR, a 1.6-liter turbo three-cylinder, to equip the new generation of the model, addressing criticisms about the limited power of the current version.

The naturally aspirated 2.4-liter engine found in the current Toyota GR86, which delivers 228 horsepower, will be replaced by the compact and powerful engine already used in the Yaris GR and Corolla GR.
