Model Presented in Italy Combines 2.8 Turbo Diesel Engine with 48V Micro-Hybrid System, Promising Efficiency and Power.
Toyota, a reference in the automotive market, recently revealed the world’s first hybrid Toyota Hilux in Italy. The pickup truck uses a 48V micro-hybrid system integrated with a 2.8 turbo diesel engine, delivering 204 hp.
Expected to arrive in Brazil in 2025, the model promises to transform the segment of pickup trucks by combining efficiency, power, and off-road capability.
How the Micro-Hybrid System Works in the Toyota Hilux Hybrid

The 48V micro-hybrid system is the major innovation. It includes an electric motor-generator, a 48V lithium-ion battery, and an electric converter. These components work together to enhance the pickup’s performance, adding up to 16.3 hp of power and 6.62 kgfm of torque to the engine during acceleration.

Innovative Features and Robust Design
The Toyota Hilux hybrid has not lost its distinctive characteristics. The model maintains a towing capacity of 3,500 kg, a payload of up to 1,000 kg, and a ground clearance of 310 mm.
New features like the Multi-Terrain Select system offer six driving modes: Sand, Mud, Rock, Dirt, Snow, and Auto. These modes automatically adjust the vehicle for different terrain conditions, optimizing the off-road experience.
