The Accident Occurred This Friday During Diving Activities for Subsea Pipeline Installations of the Pre-Salt
Petrobras informs that a worker from Fugro passed away yesterday (3) due to an accident during diving operations to install pipelines on the seabed in the Santos Basin, where the state-owned company operates the country’s most important pre-salt fields. Petrobras adds that soon after the accident, Athayde dos Santos Filho, 57, received first aid at the site but unfortunately did not survive the injuries.

“The family has already been notified and is receiving support from Fugro and Petrobras. The company has already informed the regulatory agencies and will establish a commission of investigation to determine the causes of the accident”, said Petrobras in an official statement.
