Open Spreadsheet Shows How a 15 m² Studio Built in a Shipping Container Maintained Revenue Above R$ 4 Thousand for Five Consecutive Months, With High Occupancy, Stable Daily Rates, and Growing Demand on Short-Term Rental Platforms
The video presented by Matheus Avelar shows how a project of studios built in shipping containers works, focusing on the monthly revenue obtained from daily rentals of the container studios.
He explains that this is one of the most requested topics on the channel and that several previous videos went viral due to public interest.
The goal is to open the spreadsheet and detail how much a 15 m² unit has generated on average over the last five months.

Presentation of the Japan Unit
Matheus records the video while new units are being built in the project. He mentions that the location is under construction, but he took advantage of a rare moment when the unit was vacant to capture the content. According to him, there are many consecutive days when the space does not remain empty.
The unit visited is named Japan, following the proposal to identify each container with the name of a country. Upon entering, he shows the internal structure of the space designed for couples, featuring a double bed, a central table, and complete furniture.
Items and Amenities Available
The video highlights the utensils offered to guests. He opens cabinets and drawers to show pots, cutlery, and essential items for daily use. According to Matheus, everything a person needs is available within the studio.
The unit also has an induction stove, refrigerator, microwave, fryer, and filter. The creator emphasizes that there was a significant investment in amenities to ensure a good experience for the guest.
Explanation of the Revenue Spreadsheets
With the spreadsheet in hand, Matheus begins to detail the earnings obtained month by month. He shows five sheets that represent the performance of the Japan container in recent periods. The goal is to present the values directly, without revealing personal information about the guests.
He explains that the data includes check-in and check-out dates, amounts paid, and other operational details of the rentals made through platforms like Airbnb and Booking, as well as reservations made through the project’s website and WhatsApp.
February Revenue
In February, the container was vacant for only three days during the period. The average daily rate recorded was R$ 147. According to the presented spreadsheet, the total revenue for the month was R$ 4,029.
The creator emphasizes that the amounts refer to the gross total, without considering any operational costs or expenses related to the business.
March and April Revenue
In March, the container had six vacant days and an average daily rate of R$ 152. Thus, the total recorded for the period was R$ 4,136. Matheus explains that he will not show the spreadsheets on screen to preserve the guests’ privacy, but reaffirms that all data is organized in spreadsheets.
In April, there were again only three vacant days. The average daily rate was R$ 145, and the total revenue reached R$ 4,323. He maintains focus on the stability of the numbers over the months.
May and June Revenue
The month of May showed one of the best results of the period. The average daily rate was R$ 176, and the container was vacant for five days. The total revenue reached R$ 4,706, an amount considered nearly a record.
In June, the performance was even greater. The average daily rate rose to R$ 193, with five vacant days. The total revenue reached R$ 4,936, establishing a new record within the evaluated months.
Average of the Five Months and Revenue Stability
The last month considered is July, which had an average daily rate of R$ 149, only two vacant days, and an overall average revenue of R$ 4,815, taking into account the previous five months. He comments that he had not noticed so many details before compiling the spreadsheets specifically for the video.
Matheus highlights that the monthly average has remained very stable, always between four and five thousand reais. According to him, this predictability allows for planning investments more securely throughout the process.
Possibility of Earnings with Containers
The creator emphasizes that the video aims to practically show that it is possible to earn consistent amounts using shipping containers transformed into studios for daily rental. He asserts that the revenue proves that the model works well.
The project utilizes multiple rental channels, such as Airbnb, Booking, its own website, and WhatsApp. This diversity increases the chances of keeping the units occupied throughout the month.
