Trump Charges US$ 1 Million for Gold Card and US$ 100,000 Fee for Visas in the US, Changing Immigration Rules.

Trump Tightens Immigration Rules and Launches Million-Dollar Gold Card

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced on Friday (19) in Washington a bold package of changes to immigration policy.

The decision includes the creation of the Gold Card, a special visa that will cost US$ 1 million for individuals and US$ 2 million for companies, in addition to a new annual fee of US$ 100,000 for H-1B visa applications.

The goal, according to Trump, is to curb abuses in the immigration system and ensure that American taxpayers are the primary beneficiaries.

“It’s time for the American people and American taxpayers to benefit from our legal immigration system,” he declared on his Truth Social network.

Gold Card: Exclusivity for Those Who Can Pay

The Gold Card hits the market as an elite product. The American government has set the cost at US$ 1 million for individuals and US$ 2 million for corporations, promising that the program will generate over US$ 100 billion “very quickly.”

Trump explained that the funds raised will be used to cut taxes, finance economic growth projects, and pay down part of the national debt.

For him, this initiative transforms immigration into a driver of direct investment in the country.

Unprecedented Tax on H-1B Visas

In addition to the Gold Card, Trump announced an annual fee of US$ 100,000 for each H-1B visa application, widely used by technology companies to hire skilled foreign workers.

According to the US Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick, the charge aims to restrict the indiscriminate use of this type of visa.

“After this, companies will have to decide between hiring an American or seeing other options,” he stated. Alongside Trump, he added: “We are going to put an end to this nonsensical practice of granting free visas.”

Political and Economic Justification

Trump argued that, for decades, the United States has dealt with a “failed” immigration system, allowing millions of illegal immigrants to enter and weakening the domestic labor market.

Now, his proposal is to direct immigration toward those who have the capacity to invest in the country.

With the new measures, the government seeks to attract large foreign investors, reduce dependence on low-cost foreign labor, and at the same time strengthen the narrative of protecting American workers, a central theme of Trump’s policy since his first term.

Expected Impacts on the Visa and Investment Market

Experts are already assessing that the measure could provoke a rush of wealthy investors toward the new Gold Card, while foreign professionals will have to rethink their entry strategies into the US due to the increase in taxation.

On the other hand, the government bets that the billion-dollar revenue will provide a boost to public finances and create a cycle of economic confidence.

For Trump, this is the way to strengthen the country: less cheap immigration, more capital entering directly into the American economy.

Trump and the Electoral Strategy on Immigration

Trump’s firm stance on immigration once again becomes one of the main pillars of his campaign. Thus, the launch of the Gold Card and the unprecedented taxation of visas reinforce the discourse of economic sovereignty and protection of American workers.

At the same time, by targeting H-1B visas and opening space for foreign billionaires, Trump sends a clear message: immigration is only welcome if it generates immediate wealth for the US.

As a result, the new visa policy and the million-dollar Gold Card are no longer just administrative measures. On the contrary, they become strategic tools to consolidate support among voters who see immigration as a threat to American prosperity.
