The President of the United States criticized the immigration policy of his predecessor, Joe Biden, claiming that the “open borders” allowed millions of illegal immigrants to enter, many of whom would be members of criminal organizations.
Trump also suggested that the United States would help build more prisons in El Salvador to house deported immigrants, as part of a joint effort to combat international gangs, such as MS-13 and Tren de Aragua.
According to reports, in recent days, El Salvador has received hundreds of deported individuals, including alleged members of these gangs.
“Can you build a few more (prisons), please? As many as we can take out of our country, those that incompetent Joe Biden allowed to enter here, through open borders. We have millions of people who shouldn’t be in this country and are dangerous — we have millions of people who are murderers, drug traffickers.”
Protests and Criticism Against Deportation in the United States
The deportation policy of immigrants has generated controversy. The Trump administration, while having deported hundreds of individuals with criminal backgrounds, refuses to disclose the identities or evidence against the deported.
This has led to protests and lawsuits from immigrant families and civil rights advocates, who accuse the government of violating fundamental freedoms by treating immigrants indiscriminately.
The recent decision by the United States Supreme Court, which allows large-scale deportation using war authority, has intensified the debate over the effectiveness and morality of Trump’s immigration policies.
