The program focuses on preparing young people for the job market and also for entry into higher education. Throughout the years, it has transformed the lives of many students.
UFPR takes pride in its history of successful graduates. José Paulo de Oliveira Neto, a former student of the course and now a technician at Petrobras, states that the experience was a turning point.
“I knew nothing about oil and gas, but during high school, I interned at a multinational company and ended up identifying with the field,” he explains.
Another example is Luana Izídio Flores, an engineer at Petrobras, who also started her journey in the technical course at UFPR. She highlights that technical education was crucial for her path:
“I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken the technical high school.”
In addition to regular subjects, students have direct contact with undergraduate professors and access to well-equipped laboratories.
They also participate in extension projects, scientific initiation, and volunteer activities, enhancing their opportunities for personal and professional development.
According to coordinator André Barrios, the training goes beyond technical fields. “We have students pursuing diverse careers such as Law, Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine. Being at UFPR while in high school broadens students’ horizons.”
