The Contagem Teaching Foundation (FUNEC) released Notice No. 01/2025 for the Selection Process of Initial and Continuing Education (FIC) Courses – Phase I – 2025, an excellent opportunity for those looking to enhance their knowledge and obtain professional qualification. In total, there are 162 spots available across six free in-person courses at FUNEC locations.
The free FIC courses offered by FUNEC aim to prepare students for the job market, providing practical and theoretical training. Classes will be conducted in person, with up to 20% of the total hours allowed to be conducted remotely, as permitted by the Ministry of Education. The total workload for each course is 160 hours, distributed across various shifts, including morning, afternoon, and evening. During the training, students participate in theoretical and practical classes, using dynamic methodologies to ensure quality learning.
Available Spots and Locations
The 162 spots are distributed across three FUNEC locations in Contagem/MG, with different qualification courses available:

Free courses open 2,221 spots with classes in itinerant trailers from June 8 to 18 and training in gastronomy, technology, beauty, mechanics, pets, and elderly care in SP.

Each course has a percentage of reserved spots: 20% for self-declared black, brown, or indigenous candidates, and 10% for people with disabilities.
Selection Process and Classification Criteria
The selection of candidates will be conducted according to institutional criteria and social inclusion. Among the factors evaluated are:
- Students of Adult Education (EJA);
- Individuals registered in the Unified Registration (CAD-Único);
- Beneficiaries of Federal Government social programs;
- Adolescents under socio-educational measures.
Candidates who meet these criteria are additionally classified in the selection process. The final classification will be published on March 10, 2025, on the official website of the City Hall of Contagem.
Enrollment Requirements
To participate, candidates must be at least 15 years old and meet the educational requirements for each course. Additionally, it is necessary to present documents such as ID, CPF, updated proof of residence, and school transcript. Those applying for reserved spots must provide a self-declaration of race or medical report for people with disabilities.
