According to the information, applications for the Excellence Fellowship program have opened, aimed at foreign students, which includes Brazilians.
The University Seeks Outstanding Students
According to information available on the Excellence Fellowship website, the university will offer scholarships for “outstanding and highly motivated” students who wish to pursue a master’s degree at the institution in one of the areas covered by Unige.

Scholarship Values
According to the university, students who go to Geneva will receive a scholarship ranging from CHF 10,000 to CHF 15,000/year (without teaching duties). At the current exchange rate, quoted this Friday (16), the Swiss franc is at R$ 5.63.
As per the program, this aid will be granted for one year and then extended according to the regular duration of the master’s program that the student chooses. These courses vary in length from three to four semesters, provided the candidate achieves academic success by the end of the first semester of the master’s programs, which are taught entirely in English or in English and French.
Which Courses Are Included in the Program
According to the Swiss university, the institution encompasses both exact and natural sciences. In this sense, interested candidates who studied the following fields are eligible to apply: Mathematics; Computer Science; Physics; Chemistry; Biochemistry; Biology; Geology; Environmental Science; Pharmacy; Neuroscience; and others.
How to Apply and Get a Scholarship at the University of Geneva
Interested candidates wishing to join the University of Geneva in the master’s program will need to submit several documents in a single PDF file, written in English or French. According to the program, the following documents are required:
- Copy of passport or national identity document
- Current CV with a maximum of two pages
- Bachelor’s academic transcript, with all grades
- Letter of motivation, describing the candidate’s interest in the chosen program at the University of Geneva
- Letters of recommendation from two professors of the candidate, attesting to their suitability for pursuing the desired master’s degree (they can be sent directly to Excellence-Master-Sciences@unige.ch)
- Results from international exams (such as the GRE) and English language certificates (such as TOEFL).
