Having Knowledge of English Has Changed from Being Optional to Being Practically Mandatory Nowadays. This Is Because the Language Has Become a Kind of Universal Language.
In this sense, it is observed that not everyone currently has the means to enroll in an English course and bear the often high tuition fees.
As a result, renowned institutions are, as published by Click Petroleum and Gas, opening spots for free English courses. One of these entities is University of São Paulo (USP).
According to USP, the university, through its project called English@USP, has over six thousand spots for English courses. According to the institution, these spots are intended for all staff and undergraduate and graduate students of the institution.

State government forms an unprecedented partnership with Senai and will open 100 classes of free technical courses for high school students in Alagoas.
In this regard, USP reports that, in total, there are 6,750 spots focusing on the following skills: reading, listening comprehension, writing, and speaking. Additionally, the institution states that registration does not guarantee a spot in the course.
This happens because enrollments are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis and only for those with an USP number who meet the pre-established requirements.
On the course’s website, the institution explains that “in all four courses, we seek to reconcile the teaching and learning of English for academic purposes, English for technical purposes, and everyday English.”
How to Enroll
Anyone interested in taking the free English course at USP must visit the English@USP website by clicking here. There, they can find more information about the classes, which will occur twice a week online and will be produced by a team of coordinators, teachers, and technical staff.
The selected participants will receive supplementary materials in all classes and will also have access to synchronous doubt sessions (weekly), assistance for questions, as well as extra guidance videos for studies.
Registration can be completed until February 15, with the results being announced on the 22nd of this month. Classes are expected to start in March of this year.
