USP Has Thousands of Slots in Free Online Courses Focused on Health. Registration Can Be Done Until the End of July.
The University of São Paulo (USP) announced the opening of registrations for two free courses, one of which is virtual. In total, the institution offers 1,500 slots. The opportunities are for training in Clinical Environments at the Ribeirão Preto School of Dentistry (FORP), where 500 slots are being opened, and for the course on Alcohol Consumption Prevention in Primary Health Care, where USP offers 1,000 slots.

The course on Biosecurity in Clinical Environments is aimed at individuals currently linked to FORP-USP, and its main focus is to train teachers, undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and other researchers working in the clinical environment at FORP on new Biosecurity protocols.
The course is scheduled to run from July 30 to August 16. Registrations can be made until July 24.

The online course on Alcohol Consumption Prevention in Primary Health Care focuses on training health professionals to identify, address, and prevent alcohol misuse, encouraging early diagnosis and brief intervention.
At the end of USP’s course, students will be ready to understand the issue of harmful consumption, demystify taboos related to alcohol abuse, among other things. The course is scheduled to take place from July 26 to August 30, and registrations can be made until July 25.

It is important to remember that to be approved in the free courses, students must achieve a minimum attendance of 75%, meaning they must regularly participate in the proposed activities, follow the content, and interact with other participants throughout the course. The virtual environment will be sent via email to participants after enrollment validation, along with instructions on how to use the platform.
USP Has New Opportunities in 2023
In addition to these free online courses, USP has already made other opportunities available recently and plans to offer more free courses later this year. This includes free online courses for women: Girls Who Code and Astrominas 2023.
In its 20th class, the Girls Who Code course has already trained over 600 students across Brazil. The course targets those who have completed or are studying high school and identify as female or non-binary.
Classes will be held every Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM, and the next class starts on June 24 and is expected to end on July 22.
In 2023, the Astrominas course is expected to provide around 600 free slots for women. In this training, the students themselves create the class schedule, consisting of asynchronous activities. Those interested in enrolling must identify as female, be between 14 and 17 years old by June 30, and be enrolled in a basic education school.
