The Federal Highway Police closed, on the afternoon of this Sunday, 07, a stretch of the BR-101 highway in Alagoas, due to a gas leak from one of Petrobras’s extraction wells.

According to the PRF’s communication office, the closure occurred between kilometers 112 and 129 and also reported that there were no casualties.

Two detour points were set up to avoid congestion, as vehicle traffic on the highway is intense during the weekend. The first was in the city of Marechal Deodoro, on AL-215, and the second at Barra de São Miguel, on AL-220.

Petrobras stated that the equipment to solve the problem would arrive by the end of the afternoon on Sunday. The problem was resolved on this Monday, July 9.
