Currently, many Brazilians dream of working abroad. However, it is important to highlight that this number is lower than what was reported before the pandemic. This is stated in the study “Decoding Global Talent 2024” by the consulting firm Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
According to the survey, today, 16% of workers express their desire to leave the country. This percentage is lower than that recorded in 2020 (70%) and in 2018 (33%). According to BCG, to reach this number, 5,539 professionals from Brazil were interviewed in 2023, most of whom are between 20 and 45 years old, with 53% being women.
The Preferred Destination of Those Born in Brazil

Brazilians Want to Work from Home for Foreign Companies
The survey also asked respondents about Brazilians’ willingness to work, from the Brazil, for a foreign company, remotely.
According to the study, of those interviewed, 78% were willing to work in this format. This percentage is lower than what was reported in 2020. At that time, 82% of respondents were willing to work from home for companies outside Brazil.
