Joining Forces for Education and Employment
Launched in June, the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program is already providing training and professional qualification courses focused on control technology and industrial processes, aimed at equipping workers for the Oil and Gas sector. In addition to preparing professionals to meet the demands of the Oil and Gas industry, the program adopts an inclusive approach that promotes the empowerment of vulnerable groups and strengthens the local economy.
The partnership between Petrobras and the Federal Institutes is an inspiring example of how education, combined with financial support, can transform lives and communities. ‘It is a great joy to be part of this partnership between two institutions so relevant to the municipality of Macaé’, said Susan de Cássia Alexandre, program coordinator at IFF.
Selection Process Criteria
The selection process for the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program will prioritize candidates with low income, without formal employment ties, and in situations of social exclusion. The focus will be especially on women, black and brown people, transgender individuals, transsexuals or travestis, indigenous people and quilombolas, refugees, and people with disabilities.
In the next four years, Petrobras expects to invest around R$ 350 million in training approximately 19,000 specialized professionals for the Oil and Gas sector in the states of Pernambuco, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul.
