The Brazilian automotive market recorded an important change in the sales ranking for October 2025. By October 14, the Volkswagen Tera took the lead among the best-selling cars in the country, reaching 4,170 registered units. The compact SUV surpassed established models and confirmed the automaker’s strength in the segment.
Tight Competition Among The Compacts
The difference between the top positions was small. The Fiat Argo ranked second, with 4,128 units sold, while the Hyundai HB20 secured the third spot with 4,080.
Right behind, the Volkswagen Polo maintained strong performance, totaling 3,740 registrations.

Next are the Hyundai HB20S (1,818), Volkswagen Virtus (1,808), Fiat Pulse (1,785), Volkswagen Nivus (1,741), and Jeep Renegade (1,701).
These numbers confirm that compact models and SUVs remain the favorites among Brazilian consumers.
Light Commercials: Fiat Strada’s Absolute Dominance
In the light commercial segment, the Fiat Strada continues to reign supreme. The model reached 6,672 registrations, maintaining a wide lead over competitors.
In second place, the Fiat Toro with 2,515 units, followed by the Volkswagen Saveiro with 2,466.
The Toyota Hilux secured fourth place with 2,207 units sold, while the Chevrolet S10 closed the top 5 with 1,473.
Right after them are the Ford Ranger (1,151), Ram Rampage (1,097), and Chevrolet Montana (902).
Renault Master (847) and Fiat Fiorino (669) complete the top 10 of the segment, which continues to be dominated by medium and small pickups.
The data shows that, by mid-October, Volkswagen achieved an important milestone with the Tera, while Fiat maintained dominance in the work categories, balancing the competition among the major automakers in the country.
