Weatherford International signed agreements with Constellation Oil Services to operate in strategic basins on the Brazilian coast. The contracts cover workover and well abandonment operations in the Campos, Espírito Santo, and Santos basins until December 2030.
Weatherford International’s offshore services agenda in Brazil has just gained significant momentum with the definition of deadlines and locations for its new contracts with Constellation Oil Services. The agreements ensure the company’s continuous presence in strategic areas of the Brazilian coast, divided into two execution windows extending until the year 2030.
The first phase is already underway, having started in March 2026. This stage focuses on the Campos and Espírito Santo basins, with an expected completion date of December 2028, as reported by PetroNotícias.
The second front of work focuses on the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin. In this location, activities are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with a long-term contract that will only conclude in December 2030.

Drilling units and technical scope
To achieve these goals, Weatherford will operate onboard two of Constellation’s ultra-deepwater units.
Each contract has a distinct technical specialty, adapted to the geological needs of each basin:
- Semisubmersible Gold Star (Campos and Espírito Santo): Here, the work involves interventions such as workover (well maintenance) and abandonment operations. This project is pioneering as it is an integrated service contracted directly by the end client through the unit itself.
Strengthening position in the offshore market
The acquisition of these new businesses reinforces Weatherford as an elite supplier for contractors operating in challenging subsea environments.
The company highlights that the model adopted on the Gold Star rig is unprecedented, being the first time a unit incorporates an integrated service of this type into its fixed scope of work.
Meanwhile, preparation for the Búzios campaign in 2027 demonstrates confidence in the longevity of Brazilian exploration projects.
The strategic vision of Weatherford’s leadership
The success of these negotiations was attributed to the company’s ability to combine global technology with efficient regional delivery.
Weatherford President and CEO, Girish Saligram, emphasized that the continuous partnership with Constellation is a reflection of the large-scale operational competence demonstrated by the team.
“These contracts reflect Weatherford’s ability to execute complex, large-scale offshore operations, combining proven technology with strong local delivery capability and the continuous trust Constellation places in our operational capability,” said Girish Saligram.
