Model appeared on the brand’s international online store before any official announcement, reinforcing the expectation that Xiaomi is about to expand the robot vacuum to markets outside China

According to information released by Xiaomi itself on its official global product page, the brand’s new robot vacuum is already available for consultation on the company’s international website — a strong indication that Xiaomi is preparing to expand the equipment beyond the Chinese market. Although the company has not yet officially confirmed in which countries the model will be marketed, the mere presence on the global platform is historically a sign that the international launch is in an advanced stage.

The product in question is the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max, described by the manufacturer itself as the most advanced robot vacuum ever launched by the brand, with the largest cleaning coverage area among all models in the line. The central highlight of the equipment is an unconventional approach to the mop: instead of the traditional flat cloth, the vacuum uses a roller-shaped mop system, with a continuous flow of water throughout the cleaning.

According to Xiaomi, the roll mop system features 16 water outlets, designed to keep the cloth constantly moist during cleaning. The technology works in conjunction with a constant pressure system, which simulates the human motion of scrubbing the floor, being especially effective against tough stains, such as semi-dry coffee and ketchup splashes.

Additionally, the robot features a set of three mechanical arms specifically aimed at cleaning edges and corners, including an extendable corner cloth that works together with the roll and side brush to reach areas near baseboards and furniture legs — a region historically difficult for traditional vacuum robots. According to Xiaomi, this edge cleaning has been certified by TÜV Rheinland, a German technical certification institute.

After each cleaning cycle, the equipment returns to its self-cleaning station, which washes the mop with water at a temperature above 85°C and then performs drying with hot air at more than 50°C. This combination significantly reduces the need for frequent manual maintenance — one of the main inconveniences reported by users of previous generations of vacuum robots with mops.

Artificial intelligence with three cameras recognizes more than 320 items

Another central highlight of the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Max is the artificial intelligence system with three cameras, responsible for panoramic obstacle recognition. According to data released by Xiaomi, based on tests from the TÜV Rheinland laboratory, the equipment is capable of identifying more than 320 types of items and stains in total — being 200 types of common obstacles distributed in 8 categories, 80 types of furniture in 7 categories, and 47 types of distinct stains, divided between liquid, solid, and solid-liquid mix.

The artificial intelligence system, according to the manufacturer, can even detect headphone wires with only 3 millimeters in diameter, preventing them from getting tangled in the device’s brushes. Based on this recognition, the robot automatically adjusts its cleaning strategy: liquid stains cause the brush to automatically lift and the suction to be turned off, preventing water from entering the dust compartment; solid dirt raises the roll to prevent residues from sticking to the surface.

Another technical differential pointed out by Xiaomi is the robot’s ability to overcome steps and obstacles up to 6 centimeters in height, thanks to a system of two bio-inspired mechanical legs. For reduced space areas, such as under sofas and beds, the equipment also features a retractable LiDAR radar, capable of automatically lowering and allowing the cleaning of spaces with a minimum height of 9.3 centimeters.

35,000 Pa Suction and Up to 75 Days Without Emptying the Dust

In terms of general specifications, Xiaomi states that the Robot Vacuum 6 Max boasts the highest suction power ever recorded among models in the line, reaching 35,000 Pa — combined with anti-tangle side brushes and a main brush with a hair and thread cutting system, reducing debris buildup on the device’s moving parts.

The self-cleaning station also features an automatic dust emptying system, sealed in a disposable bag. According to Xiaomi’s internal tests, conducted in a 120 m² home with a family of three and a pet, the dust bag can last over 75 days without the need for manual replacement, considering daily cleaning.

The equipment also has a nominal 6,400 mAh battery, full remote control via the Xiaomi Home app — including cleaning scheduling and setting restricted areas —, compatibility with voice assistants like Google Assistant and Alexa, as well as integration with the Xiaomi HyperOS Connect ecosystem, allowing automated scenarios with other smart devices from the brand, such as air purifiers and humidifiers.

Global Launch Still Without Official Confirmation Date

Despite all these specifications already being listed on the brand’s official global page, Xiaomi has not yet disclosed details about specific launch dates in markets outside of China. However, the product’s presence on the international platform is historically a strong indication that the expansion process is already in an advanced stage within the company.

While the novelty has not officially arrived in Brazil, the market for vacuum robots with mops continues to evolve rapidly, with manufacturers increasingly investing in integrated wet cleaning solutions — a feature that, until a few years ago, was considered secondary and today has become one of the main selling points for this type of product.

It remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will be able to replicate, with the Robot Vacuum 6 Max, the same commercial success of previous generations of the line — or if promises like “the end of the traditional mop” will, once again, run into the particularities of each real home.
