In The Heart of Germany, An Abandoned Ford Dealership Has Remained Closed Since 1994, But It Holds An Impressive Secret: Brand-New Cars Still in The Showcase, Untouched for Three Decades.

A small town in Germany holds one of the most fascinating mysteries in the automotive world: a Ford dealership abandoned for decades, yet still filled with brand-new cars that have never even been registered.

The story begins in the 1960s, spanning generations and, even today, continues to spark curiosity, admiration, and even emotion among classic car enthusiasts.

A Dealership That Stopped in Time

It all started with Josef Stock, a man passionate about cars, who opened an official Ford dealership in Ingolstadt, southern Germany.

For many years, Stock sold models like the Ford Sierra, Fiesta, Escort, and Orion.

He was known for his care of the vehicles and the traditional way of running the business.

But there was a curious detail in his contract with Ford: the automaker did not accept unsold cars back.

This seemingly simple factor had significant consequences. Over time, the inventory of vehicles began to grow.

Even without being able to sell all the cars, Stock did not discard them or pass them on. He simply kept them in the store, clean and ready for the day they might be sold.

The Owner’s Death and The Start of The Legend

In 1994, Josef Stock passed away, and the dealership closed its doors.

At that time, there were about 300 cars on-site, all new and with very few kilometers driven, some never taken out of their plastic wraps.

Part of these vehicles was sold at an auction shortly after, still in the mid-1990s.

However, seven cars were kept by Stock’s widow, intending to leave them as an inheritance for the grandchildren.

Three Sierra models, two Fiestas, one Escort, and one Orion remained inside the store, protected from dust and the passage of time.

Even after the official closure of the space, the widow took care of the place with impressive diligence. She regularly cleaned the cars and kept the showcase in good condition.

For almost 30 years, she turned the old dealership into a true sanctuary of automotive history.

Rediscovery and Virality

In recent years, the story of the dealership has resurfaced thanks to automotive channels on YouTube and reports from specialized websites.

The most impactful video was produced by the channel Auto Retro, which showcased stunning images of the store’s interior, with the cars in impeccable condition, as if they had just come off the assembly line.

The recording was made respectfully, without trespassing.

The images reveal an almost surreal scene: classic Ford models from the 1980s and 1990s, still with plastic on the seats and original tags, lined up side by side as in a new showroom.

The contrast with the modern world further reinforced the narrative. Outside, everything seems abandoned. But inside, time appears to have stood still since 1994.

The City and Ford Ignore The Location

The most curious thing is that the dealership is just five kilometers from Audi’s headquarters, one of the largest car manufacturers in the world. Still, the site went unnoticed for a long time.

Ford has not publicly commented on the matter. There are also no records of interest in transforming the space into a museum or making any type of restoration.

The story remains alive thanks to videos, reports, and the passion of enthusiasts.

Recent Updates?

As of now, there is no new information about the future of the property or the vehicles. There are no news of sale, auction, or formal restoration.

The status remains the same as in recent years: historic cars still intact and the property closed.
