Tesla receives a massive order for 370 electric trucks and will now have to prove that the Semi can truly handle heavy transport in California.
Why? The goal is to offer a premium experience comparable to BMW and Mercedes, but at a competitive cost, threatening the dominance of traditional automakers.
Bold Design That Challenges Standards
The Zeekr X catches the eye right away. Its design blends geometric lines, striking creases, and 100% LED lighting. The frameless windows add a touch of exclusivity, rarely seen in SUVs in this price range.
With dimensions of 4.43 meters long, 2.03 m wide, 1.57 m high, and a wheelbase of 2.75 m, the SUV has a robust presence.
The 362-liter trunk, however, is compact, comparable to smaller models like the Volkswagen T-Cross.
Minimalist and Technological Interior
The cabin follows a minimalist trend. A clean dashboard is highlighted by the 14.6-inch multimedia center, compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the 8.8-inch digital display that shows essential information to the driver.
The attention to detail extends to the finishing materials, focusing on comfort and sophistication. The idea is to provide the driver and passengers with an experience comparable to established brands like BMW and Mercedes, but with a futuristic touch.
Performance That Rivals Sports Cars
In the Flagship version, the Zeekr X features two electric motors, one on each axle, delivering a combined power of 428 hp and 55 kgfm of torque.
This setup ensures acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, practically the same performance as a Porsche 911 Carrera.
The 66 kWh battery ensures a range of up to 302 km, according to Inmetro data. Although the distance covered per charge is not leading in the segment, the focus is on explosive performance and the immediate response of the electric motor.
Geely Group’s Strategy for the Premium Market
Founded in 2021, Zeekr is a strategic bet from the Geely Group to attract consumers seeking luxury and technology, but at a competitive price.
By leveraging Volvo’s platforms and technologies, the Chinese conglomerate is able to deliver high-level products at a more accessible cost than European competitors.
This approach puts pressure on brands like BMW, Mercedes, and Audi, which need to deal with new rivals from China offering more technology for less money.
