More Than 214 Thousand People Will Benefit From the Implementation of the 10 Thermoelectric Plants in Marajó, Pará. Furthermore, Several Jobs Will Be Created in the State
Brasil BioFuels (BBF), a company operating in sustainable agribusiness in the Amazon, announced the implementation of ten thermoelectric plants to supply a population of ten municipalities in Marajó, Pará, and will generate various job opportunities in the area. More than 214 thousand people will benefit from the clean energy produced by the company. The forecast is that operations will begin in the second half of 2023.
The initiative for the thermoelectric plants, which is in the implementation phase, aims to replace the use of fossil diesel, which is neither biodegradable nor produced in the state, with biodiesel made from palm oil produced in the Amazon, which is biodegradable and renewable. The implementation of the thermoelectric project will also generate jobs in the region, employing local labor, according to the O Liberal website.
Sustainable Development and Job Creation
With assets in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, and Roraima, BBF focuses on oil palm cultivation, biotechnology, biofuel production, and renewable energy generation. In Pará, the plantation of palms is concentrated in the municipalities of Concórdia in Pará, Moju, Tomé Açu, and Acará, as well as a soybean instruction area in Paragominas.

We are generating jobs with the thermoelectric plants, bringing clean and sustainable energy to the northern population, making degraded productive areas,” said the executive.
Job Creation
The implementation of the ten thermoelectric plants is expected to generate 125 direct jobs and more than 400 indirect jobs. BBF has already created more than five thousand direct jobs and nearly 15 thousand indirect jobs in Pará with thermoelectric plants. The group has also benefited the region with infrastructure and education initiatives, such as the construction of new roads, new bridges, maintenance of over 600 km of roads connecting communities with urban centers, holding dozens of lectures in schools, and technical courses in the communities surrounding its enterprises, and now, the construction of the 10 thermoelectric plants, which will further contribute to job creation in the region.
