Four Wind Farms Located in the Province of Palencia Will Receive 28 Land-Based SG 5.0-145 Turbines from Siemens Gamesa, with a Total Capacity of 140MW
Discover How the Partnership Between Repsol and Siemens Gamesa Is Driving Renewable Energy in Spain. With two new contracts in effect, Siemens Gamesa will Supply 40 Wind Turbines to Power Six Wind Farms of Repsol, Totaling a Capacity of 200MW. This Is Incredible News for the Renewable Energy Sector!
Wind Turbines for Repsol Wind Farms
As part of Repsol’s project, four wind farms located in the province of Palencia will receive 28 land-based SG 5.0-145 turbines from Siemens Gamesa, with a total capacity of 140MW. Additionally, Repsol’s Delta II project will be boosted by 12 turbines installed at the wind farms in the province of Zaragoza, totaling 60MW. These wind farms will be essential for boosting clean energy generation in Spain.
Clean Energy and Emission Reduction
With the 40 turbines operational, it will be possible to generate enough energy to supply 160,000 Spanish households. Additionally, this source of renewable energy will prevent the emission of 540,000 tons of greenhouse gases, which is equivalent to removing more than 300,000 vehicles from the roads. The partnership between Repsol and Siemens Gamesa is directly contributing to reducing environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable future.

Fortescue announces a radical shift by replacing diesel with a system featuring 1.2 GW of solar energy, 600 MW of wind energy, and up to 5 GWh in batteries, a giant project that could save $100 million per year and transform heavy mining into one of the largest 100% renewable operations in the world by 2028.
Strengthening the Partnership for a Green Future
These contracts further strengthen the collaboration between Repsol and Siemens Gamesa. With eight wind farms powered by Siemens Gamesa turbines, Repsol will reach a total capacity of 324MW. This partnership is crucial for driving the growth of wind energy in Spain and promoting the country’s energy independence.
Siemens Gamesa and Repsol are committed to transforming the energy sector by promoting the transition to clean and renewable sources. This initiative is a significant step toward Repsol’s ambitious goal of reaching 6GW of installed renewable capacity by 2025 and 20GW by 2030. Together, these companies are paving the way for a future with net-zero emissions by 2050.
Kerman Gabiola, General Director of Siemens Gamesa Spain, said: “This important agreement reached with Repsol allows us to strengthen our relationship with one of the most committed companies in Spain to renewable energies and support the necessary momentum for the sector in our country. Our goal is to continue working side by side with our clients to promote the growth of wind energy in Spain, which will help foster a green transition and promote the cause of energy independence.”
