Daily Shipment Average Grows 25% Compared to August 2024 and Even Surpasses Record Numbers from July
Recent data from IBGE shows that the production of beef did not keep pace with the growth of exports in the first half of 2025.
The exported volume, including both fresh and processed beef, was 164.1 thousand tons higher than the same period in 2024.
However, formal production advanced by only 122 thousand tons in the same timeframe.

Saudi Arabia bought nearly 397,000 tons of Brazilian chicken, but now wants to create a poultry empire in the desert: the self-sufficiency plan targets local production, threatens shipments from BRF, JBS, and Seara, and raises an alert for Brazil in the halal market until 2030.

War in Iran raises fertilizer prices, triggers alert in Brazilian agribusiness, and leads the government to seek new suppliers to avoid impacts on the harvest.

Soybeans plummet in Chicago with favorable weather in the United States, and Brazilian producers hold off sales due to price pressure and lack of market response.

Raising tilapia, the most farmed fish in Brazil, with solar-powered tanks is a trend gaining strength in the field because the panels ensure water oxygenation in places without electricity and reduce costs, although profitability depends on management, feed, and market.
Researchers from Cepea, from Esalq/USP, highlight that this difference reduced internal availability. Therefore, cattle and meat prices have risen significantly compared to the previous year.
Rising Prices
The CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for fat cattle and the wholesale price of the carcass in Greater São Paulo were about 35% above 2024 levels.
The calculation considers real terms, already adjusted for inflation.
According to Cepea, this data confirms that the share allocated to the external market has increased. Therefore, pressure on internal prices is likely to continue.
Export Share
In the first half of 2024, 25.1% of formal production was exported.
In 2025, this percentage rose to 28.7%. Furthermore, the increase also occurred within the same year: from 27.4% in the first quarter to 29.9% in the second, a historic record for export participation in the sector.
Strong Export Sales Maintain Momentum
In August, exports remained strong, even after the tariff barrier imposed by the United States.
The daily average of fresh beef shipments reached 12.3 thousand tons. This represents an increase of almost 25% over August 2024 and 2.5% compared to July, a month that had already recorded a high.
If the pace continues, August is expected to set a new historical record.
The dollar lost value against the Real, but the average price in dollars increased and kept the value in reais stable at R$ 30,680 per ton.
