New Public Contest at Unicamp Aims to Replace Personnel in Commissioned Positions and Fill Positions in Teaching and Administrative Technical Areas
Governor Tarcísio de Freitas signed, on July 11, Complementary Law 1,404, which creates 9,252 vacancies at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). This new contest aims to replace personnel in commissioned positions, in addition to creating 24 commissioned positions. The law allows for the gradual offering of the vacancies, according to the needs of the institution, according to the JC Concursos website.
Vacancies in the Teaching Area
The opportunities created in the teaching area aim to replace autarchic positions, divided as follows:
- Doctor Professor: 196 vacancies for the Higher Education Teaching Career, requiring at least a Doctorate.
- Full Professor: 97 vacancies for level MS-6 of the salary table applicable to the Higher Education Teaching Career, according to Unicamp’s Statutes.
- Language Professor: 30 vacancies for the Teaching Career in Language Teaching, requiring a higher education degree with specific qualification and experience, according to Unicamp’s standards.
- Arts Professor: 24 vacancies for Artistic Teaching, requiring university degrees in the field of arts or recognized competence and proven performance in the field of arts, according to Unicamp’s standards.
- Technical Professor: 192 vacancies for Secondary Technical Teaching, requiring a technical or higher education degree with specific qualification and experience, according to Unicamp’s standards.
- Technological Professor: 20 vacancies for the Superior Technological Teaching Career, requiring a higher education degree or recognized competence and proven performance in the area, according to Unicamp’s standards.
Vacancies in the Administrative Technical Area
For the staff of the administrative technical area, there are 8,525 vacancies, distributed in groups I, II, and III, with group I at the fundamental level, group II at the intermediate level, and group III at the higher level.

In group I, there will be 100 vacancies for public positions in the fundamental segment. In group II, 4,575 vacancies will be available, distributed as follows:
- Health area: 1,980 vacancies;
- Technical support group: 2,375 vacancies;
- Information and communication technology: 220 vacancies.
In group III, 3,850 vacancies will be released, distributed as follows:
- Health area: 1,800 vacancies.
- Technical Support Area: 1,500 vacancies.
- Information Technology and Training: 550 vacancies.
In addition to these vacancies, the contest will also create vacancies for researcher, 138 vacancies, and prosecutor, assistant 30 vacancies.
