With 86 Seats, New JetBus Vessel Is the Largest in Aquático-SP Fleet and Promises More Comfort and Agility for Passengers in the South Zone.
Since Wednesday (14), public transportation in São Paulo has gained an important reinforcement on the waters of Billings Reservoir: the JetBus, new vessel from Aquático-SP, is now in operation as the largest in the municipal hydrographic system, with a capacity for 86 passengers.
This launch increases modal efficiency and significantly improves user comfort, with features such as air conditioning and restrooms on board.
The JetBus replaces the old Apurá boat, which had only 45 seats. The new addition raises the fleet to five active vessels, which together now total 285 seats — more than triple the initial capacity of Aquático-SP, which started with 90.

The “dock ship” that deliberately sinks to swallow superyachts like toys: Yacht Servant is 214 meters long, 46 meters wide, has a 6,380 m² deck, and uses float-on/float-off operation to transform maritime luxury into a semi-submersible parking lot.

The French titanium submarine that descends where the light disappears: Nautile carries three people to a depth of 6,000 meters, reaches 97% of the ocean floor, and has already investigated the Titanic, underwater volcanoes, and regions that remain inaccessible to most vessels on the planet.
The JetBus Offers More Speed for Those Living in the South Zone
The operation of Aquático-SP, managed by SPTrans, benefits residents of the neighborhoods Grajaú, Cocaia, and Pedreira, offering a quick alternative to land transportation.
The 5.6-kilometer route between the Cantinho do Céu and Parque Mar Paulista Bruno Covas terminals is completed in just 17 minutes — a significant saving compared to the 80 minutes the same route can take by bus.
The highlight of the JetBus goes beyond its capacity.
The vessel is equipped with climate control and restrooms, designed to provide a more pleasant experience for passengers, even on the hottest days or during long journeys.
The replacement of the Apurá was the responsibility of the operating company, which met the city’s requirements to update the fleet.
Over Half a Million Passengers in One Year of Operation
Aquático-SP has just completed its first year of operation and has already recorded over 500,000 users.
Since May 2024, the system has made about 23,000 trips across the channels of Billings Reservoir, proving its viability as an alternative and sustainable modal.
Aquático-SP Has Integration with Buses to Facilitate Access
To ensure connectivity between modes, the City of São Paulo has implemented two bus lines integrated with the hydro terminals: 606C/10 Circular – Cantinho do Céu and 627M/10 Mar Paulista – Terminal Santo Amaro.
These routes were planned to facilitate passenger arrivals and departures, creating an efficient urban mobility network.
Daily Operation of Aquático-SP
The operating hours of Aquático-SP are broad, serving the public every day of the week, from 5 AM to 9 PM.
With the fleet expansion and the launch of the new vessel, the City reaffirms its commitment to innovation in public transport and reducing travel time in the capital.
