The New Fiat Toro 2025 Finally Receives the 2.2 Turbo Diesel Engine with 200 Horsepower from the Ram Rampage, Gains Performance, and Becomes an Even Stronger Competitor in the Pickup Segment.
The wait is over. Fiat officially announced the most anticipated change for the Toro in the 2025 lineup: the pickup now comes equipped with the modern and powerful 2.2 turbo diesel engine, the same one that powers its “sister” Ram Rampage and the Jeep Commander. This new feature replaces the old 2.0 Multijet engine and promises a leap in performance.
The new Fiat Toro has not changed visually, but the alteration under the hood was enough to transform the driving experience of the pickup. The analysis of the new mechanical set reveals a more agile, faster truck with a new market positioning.
The Big News for 2025: The 2.2 Turbo Diesel Engine
The main change in the 2025 lineup of the Fiat Toro is the replacement of its diesel engine. The 2.0 Multijet engine with 170 horsepower makes way for the new 2.2 turbo diesel engine with 200 horsepower, which is already known for its excellent performance in other Stellantis group models.

The transmission remains the well-known nine-speed automatic, with 4×4 traction.
The Numbers of the New Power: 200 Horsepower and 45 kgf.m of Torque

The engine swap resulted in a significant performance gain for the new Fiat Toro.
- Power: Increased from 170 hp to 200 hp (a gain of 30 hp).
- Torque: Increased from 35 kgf.m to 45 kgf.m (a gain of 10 kgf.m).
This increase in power is directly reflected in acceleration. The time to go from 0 to 100 km/h dropped from 11.6 seconds to 9.6 seconds, an improvement of 2 seconds. The top speed also increased, from 193 km/h to 201 km/h.
How Does the 2025 Line Look? The New Diesel Versions
With the arrival of the new engine, Fiat has reorganized the lineup of the pickup. The 2.2 turbo diesel engine will be exclusive to the more expensive versions:
- Toro Volcano Diesel: With a suggested price of R$ 226,990.
- Toro Ranch Diesel: The top-of-the-line model, with a suggested price of R$ 224,990.
The Ultra version, which was previously the top-of-the-line diesel, will now only be sold with flex fuel. The entry-level versions, Endurance and Freedom, will also remain with the flex engine.
The Interior You Already Know (with Details from the Ranch Version)
Inside, the new Fiat Toro has not undergone any changes. The design and equipment remain the same as the previous model.
The top-of-the-line version, the Ranch, stands out for its finish with brown leather seats, wood-like details on the dashboard, black ceiling, and the vertical 10.1-inch multimedia center.
Is It Worth It? The Direct Fight with the Rampage
The first impressions of driving the new Fiat Toro with the 2.2 turbo diesel engine are positive. The assessment indicates that the pickup has become more “serene” and firm, with a suspension that seems to have been recalibrated for the new power.
The main point of discussion is its new market positioning. By using the same engine as the Ram Rampage, but at a significantly lower price (especially with discounts for rural producers and CNPJ), the Toro becomes a direct competitor and a strong cost-benefit option for those seeking a powerful and well-equipped pickup.

O custo do Arla 32 é insignificante! O motor de 200cv é muito prazeroso de dirigir! Já tive a Toro 2018.
