Sulgás, the company responsible for marketing and distributing piped natural gas in Rio Grande do Sul, invested BRL 2 million to build a piped network

Companhia de Gás do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul – Sulgás is the company responsible for the commercialization and distribution of piped natural gas in the State. The company is investing BRL 2 million in the construction of an 8,2 km channeled network in the municipality of Viamão. The city's first gas distribution branch will run along Avenidas Barreto Viana, Paraíso and Salgado Filho and Rua da Liberdade.

The purpose of the construction is to stimulate the municipality's competitiveness and progress by providing cleaner, safer and more efficient energy for industries, commercial institutions and even homes.

The president of the Association of Commerce, Industry and Services of Viamão (Acivi), Luiz Antônio Pereira, believes that natural gas will meet the urgent needs of new residential and commercial buildings under construction in the city. According to him, “It will contribute to the development of new businesses and, definitely, will help in the economic recovery of Viamão”.

After entering the most populous area of ​​the city, which concentrates around 80 of the 260 residents of Viamão. In addition to public buildings, natural gas will also benefit 40 commercial establishments.
