The Centec acts as a Reference Center for professional technological education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, middle-level technical training, and initial and continuing training of workers, aiming at environmental, hydro-agricultural, livestock, agro-industrial, electromechanical, tourism, and information technology development in the state of Ceará.

The training for the free courses is offered through a management contract with the State Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Higher Education (Secitece).
