Workers Who Received an Average of Up to Two Minimum Wages Per Month in 2021 Will Be Entitled to PIS/Pasep Aid, Which Began to Be Paid on This Day February 15
Last Wednesday (15) marked the start of the payment of the PIS/Pasep salary bonus for the year-base of 2021. This year, there will be 22.9 million employed Brazilians eligible for the benefit. Private sector workers born in January or February, as well as public servants whose Pasep ends in 0, will be among the first to receive their benefits.
Who Is Entitled to the Benefits of PIS and Pasep?
Workers who received an average of up to two minimum wages per month in 2021 will be entitled to the aid. Additionally, the citizen must be registered in the PIS or Pasep for at least five years.
In the case of employees working in the private sector, it is essential to have worked with a documented contract for a minimum period of thirty days during the year 2021. It is also the employer’s responsibility to provide accurate information to the government regarding each citizen’s situation.

The total amount of the PIS/Pasep bonus is calculated based on a proportional formula that takes into account the number of hours worked on a signed contract in 2021. The amount of R$ 108.50 corresponds to one month worked. A complete month is considered to be a period with a minimum duration of 15 days and a maximum of 30 days.
The total value of the benefit can reach R$ 1,302, an amount close to the current minimum wage. For PIS (private sector), payments are made by Caixa, while for Pasep (civil servants), payments are made by Banco do Brasil.
Those who fall into one of the following categories cannot receive the subsidy: Domestic workers; Rural workers employed by individuals; Urban workers employed by individuals; Workers employed by individuals equivalent to legal entities.

Registration in the Digital Work Card allows workers to access the value of the subsidy to which they are entitled. First, it is important to check if the application is updated to the latest version. After updating the APP, open it and go to the “Benefits” tab.
Just select the “Salary Bonus” option and go to the next page: there you will be able to see the amount, payment date, and bank where you will receive the PIS/Pasep bonus. Workers can also call the information line 158 for more details.
At Caixa, the payment of PIS will be mainly made through the credit process into a current account and also into a savings account. Other beneficiaries will receive their payments through the Caixa Tem program, which provides access to a virtual debit card that can be used to pay bills, make transfers, pay on machines, among others.
Withdrawals of PIS/Pasep can also be made at self-service terminals, lottery houses, Caixa correspondents, or agencies, using the Social Card and the associated password. December 28 is the deadline for all workers to withdraw their entitled amounts.
