High Alert Mobilizes Counterterrorism and Counterintelligence
According to an agency official cited by CNN, the FBI’s counterterrorism and counterintelligence teams have begun operating at a high state of readiness following the attacks in Iran. The reinforcement was implemented nationwide.
A law enforcement source reported that, as part of the high alert, the FBI will likely increase surveillance both in ground operations and in the online environment. This intensification occurs as a preventive measure in light of the rising risks.
Patel reiterated that agents are fully engaged in the situation abroad and emphasized that the Bureau remains on the front lines to prevent attacks on American soil, while the Armed Forces concentrate efforts on protecting troops outside the country.
JTTFs Operate Continuously Nationwide
In the post, the director stated that the Joint Terrorism Task Forces continue to work tirelessly to identify and disrupt any potential threat to US territory.
He reinforced that the FBI will continue to operate without interruption. The director also requested that the public remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities as part of the collective prevention effort.
Measures Follow Standard Adopted After Global Events
The posture adopted by the FBI is similar to that implemented by police departments, such as New York’s, which intensified patrols after the increased possibility of violence on American soil.
Such measures are common following global events like the one that occurred last Saturday. The strategy aims to enhance the response capacity and prevent internal threats arising from international developments.
