Expressive Brand in Oil Production at Papa-Terra
A joint-venture Altera&Ocyan, a strategic collaboration between Altera Infrastructure and Ocyan, celebrates its first anniversary of operations in the Papa-Terra field, in partnership with 3R Petroleum Offshore S.A. and Nova Técnica Energy Ltda. The 3R-2 and 3R-3 platforms, located in the southern Campos Basin, have reached a significant milestone with a cumulative production of 4,596,874 barrels of oil.
These platforms, with 3R-2 being a unique TLWP (Tension Leg Wellhead Platform) in the country, and FPSO 3R-3 (Floating Production Storage and Offloading), represent a significant advancement in oil production in the region, reinforcing the crucial role of the joint venture in the oil and gas industry.
Challenges and Achievements in the First Year
Marcella Nogueira, operations manager at A&O for the Papa-Terra Project, highlights the challenges faced in the first year, particularly regarding the integrity and safety of key systems. The achievement included an increase in production from FPSO 3R-3 and positive results in 16 audits, demonstrating the effectiveness and dedication of the team.

Expansion and Impact of Altera&Ocyan in the Sector
In addition to successful operations in Papa-Terra, Altera&Ocyan stands out as operator and charterer of two important FPSOs: Cidade de Itajaí and Pioneiro de Libra, both in the Santos Basin. These operations reinforce the versatility and capability of the joint venture in managing complex projects in the oil and gas sector.
A Decade of Partnership and Excellence
With twelve years of operation in Brazil, the partnership between Altera Infrastructure and Ocyan, which started in 2011, has been an example of success and cooperation in the sector. The joint venture included the chartering and operation of two FPSOs: Cidade de Itajaí, operating in the Baúna field, and Pioneiro de Libra, in the Mero field, both with excellent operation and safety rates.
The expansion of A&O’s activities for the maintenance and operation of the 3R-2 and 3R-3 platforms in 2022 marks a new chapter in the company’s history, broadening its scope of services and consolidating its position as an innovative and reliable leader in the oil and gas market.
