The Company Now Enters the Wind Energy Market With High Production Expectations for the Coming Years. Andrade Gutierrez’s Construction Project Has Moved Out of the Testing Phase and Is Now Being Accelerated by the Company in the Earthworks Processes.
After years of operation and building its name in the solar energy sector in Brazil, Andrade Gutierrez is now aiming to expand into renewables. The company is working on a project for a wind energy plant in the state of Bahia. The operation of the new plant is expected to start in 2024, and the company anticipates a good volume of production in the early years.
Andrade Gutierrez’s Wind Energy Plant Construction Project Is Well Advanced in the State of Bahia
The construction company Andrade Gutierrez has been actively working on expanding its name in the renewable energy market in Brazil over the past few years.
The company is responsible for the construction of two large solar complexes in Ceará that have already begun commercial operation.

Additionally, it is involved in energy production for the largest solar energy projects in America, located in Bahia and the state of Minas Gerais.
However, this presence was not enough for Andrade Gutierrez, and the company is now working to independently enter a new segment: wind energy.
The company had already been working moderately in the sector through partnerships with other companies, but now it will dive in headfirst with its first production plant.
Since 2015, the company has also been manufacturing metal towers at its TEN — Wind Towers of the Northeast factory in Jacobina (BA), a central region for the development and implementation of new wind energy projects.
The company’s new wind energy production project has an installed capacity of 423 MW and features 94 Vestas wind turbines of 4.5 MW, representing Andrade Gutierrez’s major bet for the coming years.
Thus, the company has been heavily investing in accelerating the construction plan. The initial phases have already been completed, and the construction company is now focusing on earthworks and concreting the area.
The project is expected to be operational in the first half of 2024, bringing significant benefits for wind energy production in the state of Bahia.
Andrade Gutierrez Emphasizes That the Wind Energy Plant Construction Project Will Also Contribute to the Socioeconomic Growth of the State
One of Andrade Gutierrez’s main objectives with the wind energy plant construction project in Bahia is to ensure greater energy security and preserve the reservoirs of national hydropower plants.
Renewable sources are utilized to complement the water sources, and therefore, investments in wind and solar energy production should be even greater in Brazil.
The construction project will also significantly contribute to the socioeconomic development of the state of Bahia in the coming years.
“The Northeast is the cradle of renewable energies in Brazil, as it has abundant sun, wind, and land. The execution of the works is carried out in a way that maximizes the preservation of the surrounding communities and contributes to their socioeconomic development. These communities benefit greatly from the injection of resources into the economy, especially small businesses in meals, lodging, and general services. Additionally, AG and its clients are committed to hiring and training as much local labor as possible,” emphasized André de Resende, Business Manager at Andrade Gutierrez.
