Enauta’s Resumption of Oil Production at Atlanta Field in Santos Basin Was Successful Following the Reinstallation of the Submarine Module at Well #5.
On Wednesday (7), Enauta informed the market about the resumption of oil production at the Atlanta field in the Santos Basin, following a four-month pause due to technical issues, as reported by Petronoticias. The restart, marked by the reinstallation of the submarine module at well #5, aims to maintain a stable production of approximately 12,000 barrels per day. The company is progressing as planned, with the FPSO Atlanta achieving 85% completion in Phase 1 and the first oil expected in August 2024, according to the environmental license.
Technical Problems with Electrical Connectors Have Been Overcome
Production was halted due to technical problems with the electrical connectors of the pumps on the Atlanta platform.
The solution came with the reinstallation of the submarine pumping module at well #5, allowing production to restart.

Petrobras announces an investment of R$ 2.8 billion in Amazonas to expand natural gas production in Urucu and modernize the river fleet, boosting energy, logistics, and the regional economy with new vessels adapted for operation in the Amazon.
However, the initial production capacity will be approximately 12,000 barrels per day (bbl/d), below the peak of over 15,000 bbl/d, due to the limitations of the Pilot Platform (FPSO Petrojarl I).
Enauta’s Plans for the Coming Months
The production of the other two wells is scheduled for the next 30 and 60 days, respectively.
In October, the FPSO Atlanta (Final Platform) reached a significant milestone, completing its second dry docking and painting, achieving 85% in the development of Phase 1.
Several final items have been contracted to support the start of production, including support vessels for the anchoring of the platform at the location.
As stipulated in the environmental license, the platform will head for the Atlanta location directly from the United Arab Emirates after commissioning.
The first oil from the FPSO Atlanta is scheduled for August 2024, in line with the timeline established by the company.
The resumption of production represents a significant advancement for Enauta, consolidating its position in the oil and gas sector in the Santos Basin.
