Artificial Intelligence Is Already a Reality in Brazilian Agribusiness and Is Becoming an Essential Tool for Productivity, Efficiency, and Strategic Decisions Across the Entire Sector Chain, According to Experts Heard by Specialized Portals This Week.

The technological transformation in the field has gained new momentum with the advent of the Agro 5.0 concept, which expands the use of artificial intelligence (AI) beyond the fields. This resource now also integrates administrative, commercial, and logistical processes, utilizing analytical and predictive systems that offer real competitive advantages to producers.

According to Graciele Lima, agribusiness specialist and executive at Senior Sistemas, rural management software (ERPs) have begun to function as smart platforms. They not only store and organize data but now interpret large volumes of information, automate operational steps, and assist in decision-making across all areas of the business.

This revolution is driven by a new generation of rural managers born in the 1980s and 1990s, who are more familiar with intuitive, connected, and practical technologies. For this type of producer, data stops being passive statistics and becomes strategic assets that guide real-time actions.

Underutilization of Data Remains a Structural Challenge

Even with the advancement of artificial intelligence, only 10% to 20% of data generated on rural properties is effectively used, according to sector estimates. Most of the information generated by sensors, tractors, drones, and software is still not transformed into practical insights.

This bottleneck occurs largely due to a lack of digital maturity and a shortage of qualified professionals who can interpret and apply data in the day-to-day operations of agriculture. This directly affects the efficiency of the properties and the full potential of new technologies.

Nonetheless, the movement to adopt AI in agribusiness is described as “inevitable and necessary” by experts, who point out that the technology is a key factor for Brazil to maintain its prominence in the global agro-food sector.

AI Solidifies as a Catalyst for Smart Management

With technology becoming increasingly accessible, agricultural sector companies now need to invest in training technical teams and continuous education. The goal is to transform raw data into operational and strategic decisions that ensure immediate and sustainable returns.

In addition, artificial intelligence offers tools for weather forecasting, supply recommendations, and optimization of natural resources, also favoring more sustainable practices aligned with international market demands.

According to an article published by the portal Agrolink, specialist Graciele Lima emphasizes that the sector already has all the necessary infrastructure. The focus now should be on enhancing the digital culture of rural properties, promoting a more conscious, technical, and strategic use of technology.

The future of the field lies in total integration between technology and management, where each seed, input, or commercial transaction can be monitored, evaluated, and adjusted in real time with the support of AI. This scenario promises more productivity, fewer losses, and greater global competitiveness.
