Stock Car 2023: Pioneering Sustainability and Circular Economy
The 2023 season of the Stock Car Pro Series, a renowned event in Brazilian motorsport, successfully concluded, standing out for its implementation of sustainable initiatives. The partnership with Lwart Environmental Solutions resulted in the rerefining of used lubricant oil by the teams, a milestone in sustainable management in sports. Approximately 1,700 liters of oil were collected and transformed into high-performance base oil, exemplifying the effectiveness of the circular economy in the category.
This action not only complies with Brazilian legislation, which requires the recycling of used or contaminated lubricant oil (OLUC), but also establishes Stock Car as an example of environmental commitment. One liter of OLUC can contaminate up to one million liters of water, making this initiative crucial for environmental protection.
Lwart Environmental Solutions: Strategic Partner in Sustainability
The partnership between Stock Car and Lwart Environmental Solutions, a 100% Brazilian company, was fundamental for the success of this project. Specialized in the collection and rerefining of OLUC, Lwart played a crucial role in the logistics and processing of the oil. The initiative reflects Stock Car’s commitment to sustainable practices and the support of strategic partners like Lwart.

The Rerefining Process at Stock Car
The collection of OLUC was carried out through drums installed near the pits of each team. After each race weekend, the collected oil was transported to Lwart’s factory in Lençóis Paulista/SP, one of the most advanced in the world for rerefining used lubricant oil. Stock Car received the Oil Collection Certificate and the Final Destination Certificate, validating its compliance with environmental standards.
This process not only transforms used lubricant oil into a new product, but also demonstrates Brazil’s capacity for effective environmental management, with Stock Car leading the way.
Impact and Legacy of the Initiative
In its 2023 season, Stock Car not only provided exciting shows on the tracks but also raised the standard of sustainability in sports. The initiative of rerefining used lubricant oil, in partnership with Lwart Environmental Solutions, serves as a model for other categories and sporting events, reinforcing the commitment to environmentally responsible practices.
