During one of the exhibition panels, BAMIN’s Director of Railway Operations, Gustavo Cota, will detail how the integrated operations of the West-East Integration Railway (FIOL) and the Porto Sul, both under construction and expected to be completed by 2026, have the potential to boost agribusiness and mining in the state, offering an efficient alternative for the evacuation of mineral and grain production, as well as for the import of fertilizers and inputs.

BAMIN’s investment in the projects is around R$ 20 billion, a resource that also includes the operation of the Pedra de Ferro Mine, which is active in the baiana city of Caetité, and is expected to reach 26 million tons annually of iron ore when FIOL and Porto Sul begin operations in 2026.
BAMIN is a sponsor of Bahia Avança and a member company of Amcham Bahia, an entity that integrates Brazilian and international organizations, forming a multisectoral panel aimed at building a better business environment through connections, driving transformation, and capacity building. The 4th edition of Bahia Avança will bring together specialists from public, private, national, and foreign entities for discussions on the opportunities and challenges of the main industries driving the GDP of Bahia.
