The World Leader in Battery Manufacturing Unveils Revolutionary Technology and Range at the Beijing Auto Show

A new battery emerges in the automotive world and surprises the companies already in the market! According to the website Engineering Today, the renowned battery manufacturer CATL launched at the Beijing Auto Show the groundbreaking lithium iron phosphate (LFP) Shenxing Plus battery. The battery boasts an impressive range of 1,000km per charge and has the capacity to recover 600km in 10 minutes!

In addition to all this range and technology, the battery has an incredible energy density of 205 watt-hours/kilogram, surpassing BYD’s second-generation Blade battery, which debuts at 190 watt-hours/kilogram. Another aspect is the addition of 1km of range per second of charging that the new battery can receive, which establishes a new standard for batteries in the market.

The new battery began production by the manufacturer through the development of a material that enhances and optimizes the intensity of the battery’s anode and also controls the expansion of the material cycles.

There is currently no forecast or speculation regarding which vehicle will receive this luxurious battery with UNIQUE range; however, anticipation is growing to know the chosen car. As for the manufacturer’s previous battery, it will be used in 50 vehicles by the end of this year, reports Gao Huan, technology director at CATL.

In addition to the Shenxing Plus, CATL also recently revealed a new technology: a battery cell that promises not to degrade after a thousand charging cycles. This innovation is set to be initially used by Yutong, a bus manufacturer, ensuring a lifespan of 15 years or up to 1.6 million kilometers driven.
