Event Focused on Renewable Energy Will Take Place on September 20 and 21 in the Capital of Pará.
Micro and minigeneration of energy through distributed generation is already a reality in Brazil. Data from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), for example, shows that the sector already totals 23 MW of installed capacity, with the Southeast region being the largest producer today.
In search of changing this scenario, as well as developing the source throughout Brazil, the latest edition of the North Region GD Forum 2023, the 21st edition, takes place in Belém, Pará, on September 20 and 21.
Promoted by the Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation (ABGD) and organized by Grupo FRG Mídias & Eventos, the new edition of the Forum aims to bring the northern region the main opportunities in the sector, as well as alternatives to develop it mainly in pursuit of a low-carbon economy.

Tiago Fraga, CEO of Grupo FRG, highlights that the event returns to Belém, where the expectations are quite positive for the growth of the sector.
“The GD Forum returns to Belém do Pará with the highest expectations, where it is a special moment for the generation of renewable energy, clean energy, electric energy generation always with the concern of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with the low-carbon industry,” he points out.
‘’We will discuss the issues, considerations, demands, opportunities, and bottlenecks of energy generation in the North of the country, “ he affirms.
Fraga also comments that the timing for holding the forum is very favorable, as the capital of Pará will host the Amazon Summit. A city that already embodies everything related to sustainability such as renewable energy.
“The Forum comes at a more important and strategic moment than ever. The idea is to generate business, bring suppliers from Brazil, the world, and the northern region as a whole closer, taking advantage of its opportunities, within what each region can offer and has as energy demand, whether in off-grid systems, energy storage, or energy generation in isolated locations. So there will be opportunities that will be highlighted at yet another distributed generation forum,” concludes Fraga.
It is also worth noting that according to ANEEL, the northern region as a whole is currently responsible for 1.5 MW, with more than 125,000 consumer units, as well as 422 municipalities engaged in their own energy generation. Belém, in turn, corresponds to 102 kW of this production, with 9,900 consumer units.
