The Decathlon R500 E-Bike Comes with a 672Wh Battery Capacity and Can Carry Up to 3 People Thanks to Its Super-Strong Cargo Rack

A new style of cargo electric bicycle has just been introduced by the French manufacturer Decathlon. This is the R500 e-bike, and as the name of the category suggests in English, it is a vehicle that has a longer rear rack to transport a greater number of passengers.

In general, it is allowed to transport up to three people on the Decathlon electric bicycle, but at least two of those passengers must be children. Moreover, its maximum load capacity can support up to 170 kg of weight.

Similarly, as the axles are spaced apart, it is capable of maintaining its stability even when loaded to its maximum capacity.

The Decathlon electric bicycle comes equipped with a 500W power motor, which is mounted on the rear hub, and a battery with a capacity of 672Wh. The manufacturer guarantees that these features are suitable for the vehicle to travel up to 90 kilometers on a single charge. In front, there is a basket capable of carrying objects weighing up to 10 kg.

In real use, the bicycle has three different riding modes, called “Eco,” “Normal,” and “Power.” Because of this, it has the potential to increase both the level of pedal assist and the motor torque output.

Additionally, the electric bicycle made by the French company is equipped with Tektro hydraulic brakes, as well as front and rear lighting.

Interested parties can purchase the Decathlon electric bicycle in the United Kingdom for the price of £3,499, which, when directly converted, amounts to around R$22,386. In Europe, it can be purchased for the reduced price of 2,799 euros, which is equivalent to R$15,781. Users can acquire a model by going to a physical store of the manufacturer, depending on their location.

Electric bicycles like this model from Decathlon are a viable alternative for daily commutes, especially in cities where traffic can be congested and parking is limited.

One of the main advantages of these electric vehicles is that they are powered by an electric motor, which means there are no harmful gas emissions. This makes them a more sustainable transportation option than cars, especially in urban areas where air pollution is a serious problem.

The Decathlon electric bicycle is very energy efficient. For instance, it can be charged from a standard wall outlet and, once charged, can run for long distances without needing more power. This makes it an accessible and economical transportation option, especially when compared to cars, which require constant fuel.

Another advantage of electric bicycles is their ease of use. They are lightweight and manageable, making them easy to ride and park. Additionally, they can be used in conjunction with other means of transport, such as public transportation or ride-sharing, making it even easier to incorporate them into daily routines.
