The results were announced during a ceremony held in Indianapolis, United States, and once again placed national labels among the winners of the international competition.
The World Beer Cup is considered the largest beer championship on the planet by volume of entries and diversity of participating countries.

Brazilian Breweries Awarded at the World Beer Cup 2025
Among the announced results, 277 Craft Beer, located in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, was responsible for two of the three gold medals won by Brazil in the 2025 edition.
The awards were obtained in different categories, both with a high number of international competitors.

The beer Quadruppel 277 won the category Belgian-Style Strong Specialty Ale, surpassing another 37 entries.
The style, of Belgian origin, is characterized by high alcohol content and complex sensory profile, factors considered in the jurors’ evaluation.
According to the technical description of the label, Quadruppel 277 presents aromas associated with dried fruits, such as dates and plums, along with notes that evoke port wine.
These characteristics are related to the production method adopted by the brewery.
The process includes 12 months of maturation in chestnut barrels, previously used for aging cachaça.
According to the manufacturer, this stage contributes to the incorporation of additional aromas and flavors to the beer, which also receives the addition of molasses during production.

277 Craft Beer also won a gold medal with the beer Canoa Quebrada, winner of the category Gose.
Inspired by a traditional German style, the label competed with another 45 beers entered in the same category.
Canoa Quebrada presents a profile described as slightly sour, with low bitterness and a salty finish, characteristics associated with the Gose style.
The base consists of wheat and barley malts, while the addition of cashew gives the product a local identity.
The label had previously been recognized in the national market.
In 2024, Canoa Quebrada received a silver medal at the Copa Cerveja Brasil, a competition promoted by the Brazilian Association of Craft Beer.
Currently, both award-winning beers are available at the brewery’s bar, located in downtown Foz do Iguaçu, according to the company’s information.
Brazilian Non-Alcohol Beer Wins International Gold
In addition to Paraná, the state of São Paulo was also among the winners of the World Beer Cup 2025.

The gold medal went to Sim! Cerveja, from Campinas, in the category Specialty Non-Alcohol Beer, with the label Melancia SOUR’n Salt.
The brewery operates exclusively in the production of non-alcoholic beers and claims to be the first in the country dedicated entirely to this segment, having its own plant focused on this type of beverage.
According to the product description, Melancia SOUR’n Salt has a reddish color and a slightly cloudy appearance.
The composition includes water, barley malt, hops, watermelon, hibiscus, and yeast.
On the palate, the label combines noticeable acidity with a slight salty touch, as informed by the manufacturer.
The company also suggests pairing with seafood, salads, and meats with a higher fat content.
The declared alcohol content is 0.3%, within the limit allowed by Brazilian legislation for non-alcoholic beers, which establishes a maximum of 0.5%.
The beverage is sold in 350-milliliter cans, priced at R$ 17.90 on the brand’s e-commerce platform.

Numbers and Behind the Scenes of the Largest Beer Competition in the World
The 2025 edition marked the 16th holding of the World Beer Cup.
This year, the competition evaluated 8,375 beers, produced by 1,761 breweries from 49 countries, according to data released by the event organizers.
For the judging, a panel of 265 judges from 37 nationalities was formed.
The evaluations took place blind and followed specific technical criteria for each entered style.
At the end of the process, 334 labels received awards, distributed across 112 categories.
Among the styles with the highest number of entries were Juicy or Hazy India Pale Ale, West Coast-Style India Pale Ale, American-Style India Pale Ale, German-Style Pilsener, and Hoppy Lager.
The presence of Brazilian beers among the winners indicates that national producers managed to meet the required parameters in a highly competitive international environment.
